Bridal Shower Tea Party Invitation

I always love a good challenge. Recently I had someone request some invitations for a bridal shower with a tea party theme. A tea party invitation…hmmm. We have a couple of stamp sets that would coordinate well with a tea party theme, but since I waited until the last minute to get them done, ordering those sets was not an option. So I started digging through my supplies and searching on Pinterest. Here is what I came up with.

Tea Party Shower Invitation

I made the teacup on the front using the Labels Collection framelits dies and circle punches for the handle. Then I stamped the teacup using the Mosaic Madness and A Dozen Thoughts stamp sets. I created the illusion of a rim on the cup by cutting out a large circle from a piece of cardstock, then using that as a guide to sponge in the dark area. I used the Flowering Flourishes stamp set to make the ‘steam’ coming out of the cup.

Tea Pot Shower Invitation

I used the Celebration Basics Invitations on the inside and stamped the small teapot from the From My Heart stamp set. I didn’t want to stamp the entire image, so I simply colored the teapot with my Stampin’ Write Marker and then stamped it.

I love the combination of the Calypso Coral cardstock, Crumb Cake Cardstock, Something Borrowed designer paper and Tea Lace Paper Doilies. Check out the materials I used and order below!
