Stamping Scrapbook Pages?

Sharing is caring!

So I turned the big 3-0 this year, and I have been scrapbooking for over half my life. I started when I was a freshman in high school. My mom got me a scrapbook and some supplies from a local Creative Memories consultant and I began cutting and pasting. I loved it! The rest is history. When I moved out on my own and realized I was going to have to purchase my own supplies, I ended up signing as a Creative Memories consultant. Eight years later Creative Memories went bankrupt and destiny led me to Stampin’ Up! Ok, I think I’m rambling.

My point is, that I have been scrapbooking for a while. In all that while, I never even thought about stamping on scrapbook pages. I even have a collection of stamps from when I was making a lot of cards. Did they ever touch my scrapbook pages? Nope.

For the last year and a half, I have been hosting Make and Takes in my workshop. I design 8 scrapbook pages (4 two-page layouts) and prepare all the materials for people to come and make them. They show up with scissors, adhesive and a paper trimmer (pretty minimal baggage for us scrapbookers) and leave a couple hours later with 8 pages ready to have pictures stuck on them. After I became a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I decided that I should try out stamping on some pages for my upcoming Make and Take. The page in the picture is my first hand-stamped scrapbook page masterpiece! I loved it and my customers did too!

I started with a plain sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock. I stamped the flowers on the background using the Crumb Cake Stampin’ pad. Then I tore a strip of Soft Suede cardstock and attached it. I stamped the bright colored flowers using Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder ink. I just love those colors together! Then I punched the stamped flowers out using the Blossom Punch and attached them using Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a 3D effect.

I want to give credit to Erin Gonzalez at Hand Stamped Style where I got the idea. The picture is no longer posted on her blog, but you can see it here .

Do you scrapbook? Have you ever stamped on a scrapbook page? If not, do it! I think you will love it!
