Welcome stampers! Today I have a quick tip and a simple fun fold design to share with you. The tip relates to using your stamps in a new way, and the fun fold card features the lovely Stampin Up Sea Turtle stamp set. Let’s take a look!
Stampin Up Sea Turtle Stamps
This is such a neat set, and I didn’t realize how neat until I saw it in person. The large turtle stamp is huge! It’s so much bigger than I thought, and the little baby turtle and accompanying stamps are so sweet. This is a ‘Reversibles’ stamp set, which means it’s designed to stamp with one side of each stamp for the detail, and then you can flip the same stamp upside down on your block and stamp with the flat back side to fill in the full image with color. This got me thinking, and it led to today’s tip. Take a look at it below!
Tip – Flip Your Stamps
While the Stampin Up Sea Turtle set is designed to flip upside down and use the back side to fill in the outline stamp, I realized that this could be done with other stamps too. It works best with symmetrical stamps that are a mirror image on the left and right sides, but it can be done with stamps that are not symmetrical too.
Take a look at the flower below from the Sentimental Park stamp set. I stamped the outlines of the flower and stem, then flipped each stamp around backwards on my block and stamped again. While they don’t line up perfectly, I think it’s a pretty good fit.
This is just one more way you can use your stamps…and your creativity…to create lovely projects!
