In case you haven’t heard by now, Stampin’ Up! did a color revamp back in the summer with the introduction of our 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. It’s pretty exciting – we have a boatload of fun new colors to work with! I made a sampling of cards – one for each of the new colors – for my customers when I did my new catalog kickoff class, but I wasn’t blogging at the time, so I haven’t shared the new rainbow with all of you! Today’s just because card idea is introducing one of our new colors and she’s a beaut – Merry Merlot.
This color is so rich and elegant. It’s similar to Cherry Cobbler, but with more purple. I looooovveee Cherry Cobbler, and I’m glad to have this similar but darker option to work with. It has been great to use on Christmas cards!
The oval stamp I used is from the Detailed with Love stamp set, shown below. I cut it out using the Big Shot and Stitched Shapes framelits.
I think the part that makes this card is the embossed cardstock on the lower half. I used the Ruffled embossing folder and love the look it created.
