January 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit Cute Conversations

Hey all you Paper Pumpkin subscribers, have you completed your January 2016 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Cute Conversations? If not, I have some great alternative ideas for you. The kit came, as all Paper Pumpkin kits do, with photos, instructions, ink, stamps and other materials to make a project, which this month was an adorable heart banner and some cute treat holders. I knew that I would rather do something else with mine, so I got to work figuring out what! I think this kit lends itself well to making all sorts of fun things with it. I ended up making a few cards and a hanging heart decoration.

Almost all of the materials shown came in the Paper Pumpkin kit. I only used a couple of supplies that didn’t come in this months kit including white cardstock, a hole punch, and a few different adhesives.

Let’s take a closer look at the projects I made. I’ll start with the hanging decoration. This was really easy to make. I took five of the hearts, folded each one in half (right side in), and then attached them together backside to backside until I had this cute little guy!

Here are the cards I put together. Didn’t they turn out cute?

For this card I made a little pocket at the bottom to hold the heart. I stamped the arrow pattern and the hearts in the background.

To make this card, I placed a small amount of tear and tape adhesive on top of the far left side of the heart you see on top. Then I placed another heart directly on top of it. Next I folded the hearts around so the ‘seam’ is on the inside of the card. Isn’t the sequin trim around the edge fantastic?

Here’s the third design I came up with. I put together some of the cute little banners to make that fun design on top of the heart.
