Prized Peony Bundle

This bundle includes the Prized Peony stamp set that has several beautiful flower stamps, plus lovely and delicate sentiments. It also includes the Peony dies, which can be used to cut around the stamped images or to create layered peonies without any stamping.

Last time I shared this bundle I created the peony card shown below. It was my ‘starter project’ with the Prized Peony set, because I was slightly afraid of these peony flowers and how to assemble them. I wanted the flower to look life-like, but I was afraid of trying to sponge it. I crumpled up the paper before die cutting it, and it was the perfect trick to make the flower look realistic quickly and easily.

I also wanted to try sponging a flower, but I wasn’t sure where to begin. Let’s talk about it below and I’ll share instructions to make it simple!

Instructions

For my project, I used Flirty Flamingo cardstock and Poppy Parade ink. I used a sponge to add ink to the flower pieces as shown below. The key to getting realistic shading is getting the lights and darks in the right places. You’ll need to sponge ink onto the darker areas as shown, and when you put the flower together, it will be gorgeous!

Once the pieces are sponged, it is very easy to assemble the flowers. Watch my video below to find out how, or check out this tutorial.
