Before I forget to mention it – the new Stampin Cut And Emboss Machine is available for sale today! If you’re planning to order it, you may now do so! Now for today’s discussion, the August 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit was a little change of pace from the last few months. We’ve been having kits full of bright colors, flowers, and summer fun, so the blues, yellows, ribbons, and tropies were a little bit different! At first glance, I thought these projects would only be appropriate for men, but after taking a closer look and putting my own kit together, I realized I was wrong. Trophies, medals, and ribbons are absolutely appropiate for all amazing people!
The name of this month’s kit is World’s Greatest, and it is full of project pieces to celebrate the amazing people in your life. At first I didn’t know who I would use these cards for, but it only took a quick minute to discover lots of ideas!
I like to celebrate my Stampin Up team members, so they’re definitely on the list of potential recipients. It’s been on my list to send a card to my daughter’s teacher and school principal, and these are perfect for them. What about our public service people and medical workers? This is a time when we need to recognize and celebrate these people, and these cards are absolutely appropriate.
The kit includes materials to make nine cards, including three shaker cards and six traditional cards. The card bases are pre-printed and scored, and die cuts are ready to be punched out and used. Stamps and ink are also included. This month’s ink was a Pacific Point Stampin’ Spot. Adhesives are even included! Literally everything you need for a fun project comes in this box 🙂
The stamp set includes a ribbon, medal hanger, and stamps that say #1, You’re the Best, You Deserve A Medal, This Calls For A Celebration, World’s Greatest, Kid, Teacher, Friend, and Coach. I love the more general stamps that can be used to celebrate any occasion, as well as the more specific ones, especially the teacher stamp.
When used with other stamps, you can get even more use out of this set. For example, I pulled a stamp out of the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, and was able to make two of my cards say ‘World’s Greatest Father.’
Here are the card designs included in this kit. So pretty! If you would like to watch along as I created these, make sure to take a look at the video below.
To give you a few alternative ideas, I used my kit contents to make two other card ideas. First, I made a shaker card with the ribbon behind the frame.
I also made this wreath card with the vellum branches. This one is my favorite!
In addition to the cards, I also created a scrapbook page. We sure do love celebrating the amazing children in our lives, and this page is perfect for any type of achievement.
Benefits of Paper Pumpkin

You don’t need a lot of space to store leftovers, because you’ll just have a small stamp set, mini ink pad, and a few paper pieces leftover. It allows you to build up your stamps and ink on a budget. It’s a fun project to complete by yourself, or order with a friend or family member and use it as a reason to get together and craft! I could go on, but I’ll stop here. I love these kits!
