Earlier in the week I was in need of some stamp therapy. I wanted to sit down and create. I didn’t necessarily want to think about what I wanted to teach and share with you, which is what I normally do…I just wanted to stamp. I decided to find a stamping challenge to join in with, and that turned into three stamping challenges which led to me creating the card below.
I decided to join in with The Paper Players, CASology, and Global Design Project challenges for this week. I originally planned to create separate cards for these challenges, but the ideas were overlapping in my mind, so I created one card that met the requirements for all of them.
The Paper Players challenge was to create a clean and simple masculine card. The Global Design Project challenge was to use Pear Pizzazz, Pale Papaya and Balmy Blue colors. The CASology challenge was to create a clean and simple card using masking.
I used blending brushes to create the background. I stamped the image of the man holding the child using Crumb Cake ink, stamped off once. Then I watercolored it using water painters. I cut it out by hand and attached it to the card using dimensionals. I stamped the greeting using the Stamparatus to allow me to stamp several times in the same place for a deeper color. I wanted to make sure it showed up over the background, and I was sticking to using Balmy Blue instead of a darker color for the color challenge.
Recently I’ve been sharing a video tutorial for every single one of the projects I share here on my site, but I’m planning to start creating some projects like this one without a tutorial video. I can share more ideas if I don’t create videos for all of them, so I hope you understand!
Occasionally I think about organizing my own stamping challenges. If I did this, would you join in?
